Greetings from the BPW/USA Membership Committee!

Crossing the Finish Line a winner does not happen by chance! It takes consistent effort and a burning desire to “win.” BPW Members, we are in a race to cross the membership finish line as winners! 

We have the tools we need to recruit and retain members…many of you have been very successful in your efforts. 

Now, it is time to focus on retention. Each year, the months of March, April, and May are critical to our overall membership success. Last year we gained many new members as a result of the Big Push campaign. Our goal this year is to retain each and every one of the new members, as well as, our experienced members whose renewal dates are coming up.

Here are a few reminders:                                                                          ¨     Overcoming Objections… Getting to YES!

·   Listen to the Objection and have a ready response!

·   Not Enough Time

§         Offer membership on her terms

§         Offer “guilt-free” membership

§         Introduce the MAL category

·   Can’t Afford the Dues

§         Would your employer pay your dues?

§         Membership in is an investment in yourself

§         Membership dues are comparable to dues to other organizations.

§         Members’ dues give a voice to the thousands of   women whose voice that cannot be heard

§         Give a Gift to yourself

§         Would monthly payments help?

·   I plan to relocate this year

§          Membership can be transferred

§          Established network in your new location

·    I think I am too young for this group

§         BPW provides leadership development in a non-   threatening environment

§          You will be investing in yourself

·   Call, write, or e-mail contacts during specified time-frame

·   Follow-up with personal appeal

§         If the member doesn’t renew, Ask Why?, if you aren’t renewing tell the organization Why.
